A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

A good read, with interesting elements of magic. The characters took most of the book to build, however now I'm interested in them, and hope there's a second one for me to follow their story along with. Not at all about London (barely gets a mention) despite the concept of multiple Londons/worlds. I thought it might be a little steampunky, but totally fantasy.
