But i did two entries on Friday - does that count?'
Well, here's the belated entry for Saturday.
1. Current Events
I was just reading about the Emergency Rule declared in Pakistan. Seems awfully coincidental that just as the High Court is about to declare the current military President illegible to run for President in the forthcoming elections again, that he feels the need to declare a state of emergency.
Which is predicted by ex-President Benazir Bhutto to put back the actual elections by at least 1-2 years.
Apparently US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has twice before talked President Pervez Musharraf out of this action before...
Will be interesting to see what happens - of course he's stating he's doing this for the good of Pakistan.
2. Something Funny
This is a comic from one of my favourite websites, xkcd.com. You have to have a bit of a weird, mathematical, geeky sense of humour at times to enjoy his work...but I love it.This one's titled "Getting Out of Hand"
3. Weather
Well, you'd probably call it "muggy". The weather bureau sometimes calls it "sultry", but I think that name just sounds too sexy. There's nothing sexy about being sweaty by the time you're eating your cereal. Straight after you have your shower, you feel like you need another one!!
4. Exercise
I'm embarrassed to say, that I did nothing all day. But, I think I'm allowed a day off....better do a run this afternoon.
5. Diet
Cereal, Tomato, Cheese on Turkish bread with a reeeeally nice Chutney from a company called " A Little on The Side" which I think is a really cute name.
Then I had salad and chicken and a couple of chips. All good so far - but, we played DnD last night, which has a standard fare of Coke, Salt and Vinegar Chips, Snakes, Peanut MnMs.
But any food consumed while playing DnD is burnt up during the screaming, the laughing, the shouting and the general over excitement...so All's Good.
6. A picture
This is me as a baby, with my Nanny Ark. Aren't I just gorgeous!! Mohawk and all...7. Hobbies
Well, it's all been about DnD. For those of you who don't know, that's Dungeon's and Dragons. Which has had a bit of an image issue over the last 20 years. In typical American style, sometime in the 80's the churches over there got a hold of it, and decided it wasn't kosher, and put out some pretty bad press. Here's the truth. It's the same as a person listening to Heavy Metal Music, watching a gory movie, or playing a violent video game - if that person is going to flip, then it doesn't matter what they're doing...they're going to flip. If they're a normal person, then they'll be a normal person.
Dungeons and Dragons is a roleplaying game. There's no board, there's no cards...just a sheet of paper with some numbers on it, and your imagination.
The best way to describe it to people who've never played (and really, you do need to play to understand it fully) is that it's like playing a character in a book or movie. You are a character which has a fully fleshed out set of criteria, which you have to stick to and pretend to be. Then the DM ( Dungeon Master) describes the skeleton of the plot of the story to you, and you then, with your group, describe how your character reacts to the story.
Example:
The DM describes that your party is sitting in an Inn (did I mention that the setting is generally Medieval/Lord of the Rings type of a fantasy world) discussing the fact that your group is getting low of funds. The group is approached by a hugely overweight, bearded man, with many piercings and he asks if you're looking for work?
At this point, each player then describes to the DM what they're character says in reply. This story thread (An Adventure) might lead the party to investigating an old abandoned mansion, where they may find a group of gnolls (monsters) that they have to fight, after which they find some treasure.
Now that's the simple breakdown...the whole point is it's a great deal more complicated, and fun. We usually end up laughing our heads off, or swearing as one of the characters/players does something intensely stupid and endangers the whole group.
It's like acting, problem solving, a game of chance, charades, strategy all wound up into one.
And it's the most fun you can have with your clothes on, with a group of people, in my opinion.
8. Kids
Mat's been to a party and lost his wallet. Welcome to being drunk and stupid at a party. Ah well...they have to learn on their own. He's 18 now...
Jenna's at a sleep over. I'm kid-less...briefly!! Gotta love the quiet!!
9. Interesting Fact
Women who read romance novels have sex twice as often as those who don't.
So guys...stop knockin' the romance novels...hey?
10. Quote
"You can't just let nature run wild."
Wally Hickel, former Alaska governor

those women that have sex twice as much as the rest, did the survey say wether or not the man was actually there when it happened?
