Today was all about the, shall we say, interesting way people behave in a large work environment.
We have a particular person who works out of our offices. Supposedly, this person is part of our team, however technically they report to a different Manager. We'll call this person Slacko, for want of a better name.
Now Slacko is one of those people that feels that there are rules. And rules are good. Everyone should follow the rules as it is important for a workplace to have laws, and rules and guidelines for behaviour. This makes it fair for everyone else.
Except - Slacko doesn't have to follow these rules - OOOOOHHH NO! They are special! They are part of that wonderful group that can earn a full time wages, but only work PART TIME! Now, how, I ask you ...do you get one of those jobs?
Now it wouldn't be so bad - accept for this particular Slacko, their role involves counselling people on their absenteeism. Do you see the hypocrisy?
Here's a typical day in the life of our Slacko:
10am...turn up to work. Technically, work day started at 8-30...but you know, had things to do
10.15am...stop and have morning tea with everyone else
11am...spent the last hour on the phone to friends
12pm head off to an hours lunch
1pm...chatter on with some of the staff a bit
2pm...head off home - traffic is going to be hectic, so we need to leave early don't we? Work day finishes at 5...but you know...
Enough bitterness...back to the program:
1. Current Events
Great Outdoors was here yesterday filming for their show - should air next year. Andrew Daddo is as cute in real life. But a bit reserved...I'm sure he was just thrilled to be in Grafton. :-)
2. Something Funny
Quote from a child on Marriage:
"It's better to be single for girls, but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them." Anita aged 93. Weather
Overcast, humid. Bit of rain. More storms up through Kyogle and Bonalbo, but only mild.4. Exercise
mmm...I have very sore feet. The most exercise I did today was walking up and down the stairs to the house.5. Diet
Cereal, greek yogurt, pie and mushy peas, greek yogurt, salt and vinegar rice crisps.
6. A picture
:-) Fun!!!
These are my nephews...having a ball.
7. Hobbies
Music is taking up more of my focus - I Loooooove iTunes. Sooo easy to download.8. Kids
Jenna is becoming more and more involved in the whole socialisation thing...boys, girls, groups, events. Jacaranda is full of it all, and there's plenty for the kids. Tonight is the Venetian Carnival - they put a stage up on the river bank and have local and other acts perform, then fireworks. It's a great family atmosphere.9. Interesting Fact
The average office desk has 400 times more bacteria than a toilet.
10. Quote
"I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who overcomes his enemies. " Aristotle
